Friday Favorites Oatmeal Edition!

Disclaimer: I received the product via Fit Approach. All thoughts and opinions about My Oatmeal are my own!

This week for my friday favorites post I thought I would share about my new love for Custom Oatmeal via My Oatmeal!

I really love oatmeal so I jumped at the chance to make a couple custom blends of oatmeal!

Banana Cream Pie Oatmeal Blend

I made Banana Cream Pie Oatmeal for Scott! He is obsessed with banana cream pie, every year for his birthday I make him one!

I tested out the Banana Cream Pie Oatmeal in a smoothie…. it was my first time putting oatmeal into a smoothie and it was so delicious!

Banana Cream Smoothie via alexrunsforfood

Banana Cream Smoothie

1/2 Frozen Banana

1/4 c Banana Cream Oatmeal Mixture

1/2 c greek yogurt

6 oz Unsweetened Almond Milk

Simply blend together and ENJOY!!

For my Banana Cream Oatmeal blend I chose 5 grain rolled oats and flax, banana cream pie flavor and for the sweetener I chose brown cane sugar. This blend tastes just like banana cream pie and it is super delicious! I highly recommend it!

For myself I made a Snickerdoodle blend! I used this blend to make some yummy oatmeal cookies!

Snickerdoodle Oatmeal Cookies via alexrunsforfood

For this recipe I used a classic oatmeal cookie recipe. I replaced the old fashioned oats with my snicker doodle blend and I replaced the butter with apple sauce. The cookies turned out delicious.

For my snickerdoodle oatmeal blend I mixed 5 grain rolled oats and flax, snickerdoodle flavor, hemp seeds and monk fruit (0 cal sweetener).

I also opted to get a bag of the mystery blend oatmeal! They offer the mystery blend at a reduced price so I couldn’t turn down a good deal 🙂

I was not disappointed with my purchase at My Oatmeal!!! I highly recommend that everyone tries their oatmeal!

I’m linking up with Katie for Friday Favorites!

Whats your favorite way to eat oatmeal?

Making New Friends

As you all know I went to a bootcamp and brunch last Saturday. It was so much fun and so great to meet such amazing people who share similar interests as I do! Thanks again Lee, Amanda and Mellissa for a fun morning!

A Killer Workout

I love trying new workouts and this is the one that Lee had us do for our bootcamp. I really enjoyed the workout. It kept my attention and I was never bored. I’m definitely going to be doing this workout on my cruise! Hopefully I can remember all the moves 🙂

Chia Seed Yogurt

Mellissa’s Chia seed yogurt is so good!! I topped mine with some of Scott’s grandma’s homemade peach jam, blueberries and Muesli. It was so good! I need quick and simple breakfast items otherwise I won’t eat breakfast. I know…. I’m bad! But if I prep quick already made things then I eat breakfast!!

Quality Study Time With Maisy

Maisy Loves Helping 🙂

So So Helpful!

Chocolate for Breakfast

This morning I had oatmeal and decided to top it with chocolate chips and walnuts! So GOOD!!! Might not be totally healthy but it fueled me through my morning of studying!

Snuggling with Maisy

She has full control over me and she knows it…. this will not end good for me 🙂

Pei Wei for Lunch

Did I ever mention that in High School I used to work at Pei Wei. Oh man if you haven’t tried Pei Wei you NEED to!!! My favorite is the Pei Wei Spicy with Fried Rice and of course I LOVE the wontons and spring rolls!!!!! Not at all healthy (although you can get healthier options there!!) but so so good. It was the perfect fuel to power me through an afternoon of studying.

I was Reunited with Yoga Sculpt

I took my first sculpt class back in October. I really loved it but my month of yoga was up. On Tuesday I headed back to Core Power Yoga for my second sculpt class. I am SO happy I went! It was such a good workout! I missed yoga 🙂

Favorite Holiday Meal

We used to make a traditional Swedish dinner… that was ALWAYS amazing! Now we do appetizers at my parents house Christmas Eve.

Favorite Holiday Breakfast

We make Christmas Quiche. It has eggs, cream of mushroom soup, milk, croutons, sausage and onion in it! SOOOO GOOD!!!!

I love shopping for my mom. She is so easy to buy for because her and I like the same things! I always have tons of ideas for her 🙂

We always give my parents a funny gift and that year we gave them our ugly sweaters 🙂

Favorite Way to Open Presents

Every year at my parents house we open presents one at a time. Scott and I like to give lots of funny presents so I love watching people open them. We also like to wrap presents in funny ways!

I love all of the ornaments that I get from my grandma 🙂

I got this nurse ornament after graduation from one of my Aunts friends! Love it!!

Tree- Real or Fake

Currently we have a fake tree only because we live in an apartment complex that doesn’t allow real trees. If I had a choice I would get a real tree!! I love the smell and look of real trees.

Favorite Holiday Shopping

My favorite holiday shopping is done on black friday 🙂 I really love craziness of black friday. We have a tradition that my mom, aunt and I all go together! We always have a blast.

And now for my addition to Katie’s holiday favorites…

Favorite Holiday Workout

IMG_1666 IMG_1670

Today in Core N More we did pushups for M&Ms. Staci gave us all a plate with M&Ms on it and made us do pushups. If we wanted to each time we did a pushup we could eat an M&M. We did a total of 72 pushups within a few minutes. I saved my M&Ms and ate them after class.

What are some of your Friday Favorites?

Friday Favorites II

It is that day of the week again…. time for Katie’s Friday Favorites link up!

Heres what Friday Favorites means to Katie: “I know there are a couple of version of Friday Favorites around the blog world, but here on R4C, it’s all about the little things that made you smile over the past week. And anything goes! Because we all know that it’s the little things in life that make it count, right?”

Sorry in advance…. a lot of my favorites of this week and food related 🙂 You might be hungry by the end of this post!

Homemade Pizza

If you have a Trader Joes near by you have to head there and pick up their pre made pizza dough and pizza sauce! So amazing!! I used the whole wheat dough this time and I didn’t hear any complaints from Scott! I loaded my pizza with sausage, green & black olives, artichokes, red pepper, onion and red pepper flakes. AMAZING

Butternut Squash Ravioli

I cooked premade frozen butternut squash ravioli (Got it from the farmers market), chopped pistachios, parmesan and balsamic glaze (bought at Target). So good. My dad was lucky to eat the leftovers and he loved it also.

What are some of your Friday Favorites?

Friday Favorites

Today is the start of a new link up! Katie over at Running4Cupcakes started this link up and I am very excited to participate.

Heres what Friday Favorites means to Katie: “I know there are a couple of version of Friday Favorites around the blog world, but here on R4C, it’s all about the little things that made you smile over the past week. And anything goes! Because we all know that it’s the little things in life that make it count, right?”

I have lots of favorites from this week!

New Workout Bag:

This is the Everything Fits Bag from Gaiam. My bag came yesterday and I got to use it today and so far I am loving it! Everything really does fit.

I don’t really love the cold but I do love the snow. And my furry friend really loves the snow!

The End of Nursing School:

Thursday night I took my final nursing test of my Associate Program! This girl is officially graduating with a RN degree.

Celebrating Thursday Night:

Gotta love the glowing eyes from being in a dark bar 🙂

Love my Hard Cider 🙂

I really was blessed this semester to have an amazing clinical group. We all got along so well and I think we will all stay friends for a long time.

Operation Beautiful:

Todays challenge for #elf4health was Operation Beautiful. I honestly hadn’t heard of operation beautiful before this challenge. Their goal is to spread to teenage girls that they are beautiful just the way they are. It really is the little things, like a note on the mirror or randomly placed at Target, that make a difference.

My note that I left at the gym.

And a couple other notes that other elves left!

Spin Class:

I truly love the Road Rage spin class at Xperience Fitness. The instructor, Stacey, is so amazing! She is so inspirational and really pushes us. During the class she always has us take a moment to be thankful for our healthy bodies. She sometimes has us dedicate our ride to someone who can’t be there. I love every minute of her class.

Now it’s your turn… What are your favorites from this week?
